Procedure for the Indian visa at the Mongolian embassy

Do I need a visa for India?

In Mongolia, applying for a visa to India is mandatory. For this it is possible to go to the Indian Embassy in Mongolia.

The Indian Embassy in Mongolia is located in the Sukhbaatar district, which is proving to be a prestigious place. Indian nationals in need of embassy assistance can also visit the embassy. They are encouraged to contact the (consular) attaché every working day during business hours. The Indian Embassy still prefers to be informed in advance in order to avoid any inconvenience.

It is important to note that there are two options for Mongolians who wish to apply for a visa to go to India:

Apply to the embassy to obtain the visa in the passport

In this case, your visa application must be filed directly with the embassy. Your visa will be affixed to your passport.

There are several types of visas for India:

  • The student visa;
  • Medical visa
  • Conference visa
  • business visa.

Apply online on the Indian government website

In addition to the first possibility that the visa is supposed to be included in the passport, there is a second option. Thus, any Mongolian can also apply online on the Indian government website. How’s it going?

First, you must apply online, upload one of your photos in order to submit it and also download a passport page.

Then you have to pay the e-visa fee using a debit card or a credit card. Once you have passed this stage, an electronic travel authorization called E-visa will be emailed to you.

Finally, print the E-visa and present it at the immigration checkpoint where the e-visa will be stamped on the passport.

How do I get the India visa at the Mongolian embassy?

Before you travel to the embassy, you must gather a list of documents to provide for your visa application to be accepted by the Embassy.

Therefore, getting your visais conditional on following up on some simple steps.

Fill out the online form

First of all, you must go to the Indian government website to fill out a 3-page online form.In this form you will be asked for several information about your trip (duration of stay, city in which you will stay…). You will also need to upload a photo ID.

Compared to the photograph you must provide for your visa, you must present a photo that meets certain standards:

It is necessary to complete the form by submitting a photo that meets the requirements just listed. Since any photo that does not meet these specifications will result in a refusal of your visa

Once the form has been completed, you must prepare all the documents to be provided.

After downloading and correctly filled out the india visa application form with an appropriate photo, you must prepare documents.

So it’s all about providing:

It is also necessary for all Mongolians to know that there are no visa fees to pay for them. However, it is important for all people wishing to have an emergency visa that there is a fee for them. This is the us$35 service fee.

If your stay in India is more than 6 months (180 days), you will need to make an additional request via the online portal FRRO: https://indianfrro.gov.in/eservices/userlogin.jsp?disclaimer=1. This procedure is mandatory when they will have a period of stay in India that exceeds six months.

Which visa to choose for India?

It is important here to recall the different types of visas for India that exist so that you can decide which one you should choose from. Thus, we count with regard to India:

  • The tourist visa;
  • Student visa
  • Journalist’s visa
  • Work visa
  • Medical visa
  • Business visa;
  • Visa conference.

And many more.

To choose the one that’s right for you, find out what one of these visas is.

The tourist visa

This is the type of visa that allows you to spend your holiday in India. It can also allow you to attend an event in India, visit or even change your mind.

The Indian Embassy usually issues tourist visas for a period of six months. However, this period is not a standard period because the embassy may grant visas with longer or shorter durations.

Tourist visas cannot be exchanged in India or even extended there. Thus, the end of the duration on the visa must correspond to the end of its validity. This leads visa holders to leave India if they are still there.

The Embassy does not routinely accept visa applications, even if all application conditions are met. It has the right to accept, refuse or amend it if it deems it necessary. It may require additional checks if it finds it necessary to issue a visa.

As a result, it is forbidden to buy a plane ticket before you get your visa for fear that you will not get it at the time you want.

Please note that not all categories of people obtain this type of visa, due to the purpose of their trip.

The student visa

The student visa allows you to travel to India for the purpose of studying at a school or university institute. In addition, thanks to this visa, you can take courses in music, live art or music. This visa is therefore subdivided into subcategory. These include:

(l) A higher education visa for short courses or student exchange programs;

(e.g., a visa for the education of adolescents (whose visa is obtained as a result of a letter of parental authorisation);

a visa for studies based on theology, discovery and meditation of historical books;

a visa to complete a degree or certification internship in India after obtaining a degree (minimum master’s degree).

The journalist visa

This type of visa, although called a journalist visa, does not only include visas for journalists. The journalist visa refers to visas for a category that includes sectors such as tourism or professional activity.

As a result, it is anyone who works in a sector such as the media, the newsroom, the press or the cinema or the audiovisual sector. Apart from these sectors of activity, there are still others that require obtaining a journalist visa.

Thus, the Indian Embassy can issue visas for this case, with a validity of 3 months. In addition, it issues visas that do not have the option of being exchanged or renewed in India.

One of the important things to note is that any journalist with a tourist or personal purpose must apply for a visa. He must apply for a journalist visa and no tourist visa. He must therefore make it clear that he will not practice his profession once he is in India.

As in previous cases, the Embassy of India is not required to issue a visa to anyone who requests it. It can therefore initiate multiple procedures to verify certain aspects of the application.

Your visa only becomes valid when it is issued by the Indian Embassy.

The work visa

This visa is issued to anyone who is called upon to work for an organization in India. It is also issued to a person who must work on a cooperative project between India and Mongolia.

This visa is a revolving visa because of the length of work that the person who applies for it will do. However, this visa is not granted to a person who is a minor or who works on behalf of his own company.

The medical visa

It is a visa that allows the applicant to be able to get medical treatment in India. To qualify for this visa, you must provide a stack of necessary documents.

However, like any type of visa, some people are not eligible. These include people who want to learn about certain Indian practices for well-being or others. This category of people must apply for a tourist visa.

This visa has a validity related to the approximate duration of medical treatment that will be performed. However, it may have a validity period much longer than that assumed for treatment.

People who wish to attend a conference related to their company are not eligible to obtain this visa.

Also, it should be noted, the embassy does not provide visas instantly.

The e-visa for India

If you are unable to travel or cannot travel back and forth between your residence and the embassy, there is another option. Thus, Mongolian women are eligible for this type of visa. This is the electronic e-visa. But what is the e-visa?

The e-visa is the visa you get after doing all the application and visa application online.

Thus, obtaining an electronic e-visa is conditional on filling certain conditions.

Conditions to be fulfilled to obtain your e-visa

As a simple visa, to apply for and obtain an e-visa, you must meet requirements. It’s:

  • Provide a recent front photo with a white background of you;
  • fill out a form on which you will provide your personal information. You can list your name, date of birth, and many other things;
  • download another document depending on the type of electronic visa you want. You need to use common sense and therefore provide a clear photo that complies with the site’s requirements.

In addition, an e-visa fee applies if you are not Mongolian. In addition to these fees, there is a 2.5% bank transaction fee. All of these fees are paid at least 3 or 4 days before your scheduled travel date, otherwise your application cannot be processed.

It is necessary to clarify that the fees you pay are fees used to analyze your e-visa application. These fees do not guarantee whether or not your application will be accepted.

The electronic visa applicant, must have a copy of the electronic travel authorization when he is about to travel.

Details of your application are entered into immigration as soon as you arrive in India. Your India visa cannot be exchanged or converted and does not allow you access to certain protected or restricted access areas. As a result, visiting such areas is subject to the request for civil authorization. Due to factors such as network connection, it may take several hours to update your payment status. You have permission to reseed your application about 2 hours later. When you find that, despite your fees being deducted, your status has not changed, click the link to verify the payment.

When this aspect is finally resolved, you must travel with a valid and valid passport: this is the one for which you have requested your e-visa.

Similarly, the documents you provide must be in English in order for your application to be properly validated.

Like the other type of visa, the e-visa has several categories.

Different types of e-visa

We can, as part of e-visas, have:

  1. The tourist e-visa;
  2. Student e-visa;
  3. Medical e-visa;
  4. e-visa conference.
